How Can Severe Pain From The Hips To The Feet Be Treated?

Hi I am suffering from strong symptoms of claudication and I can not walk up stairs or any kind of incline. I can also walk about 50 yards before these symptoms start to bother me where I have to take a break before I can continue. I feel strong pain from my hips all the way down to the bottom of my feet. And I am seeing a doctor on Monday and would like to know what to expect. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Given your symptoms.spinal.issies and peripheral vascular disease are the major concerns.

You will need a thorough physical examination, Doppler scan of legs to assess blood flow, X-ray spine, hips and MRI spine if needed.
Please be advised to follow up with your scheduled appointment. Management will depend on the underlying cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
