Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good Afternoon, I have been having ankle pain for quite some time. Since around Memorial day. I have been doing PT for Achilles tendonitis. With the therapy they have included a dexamethasone patch. I am getting no relief from the PR or the patch. I am concerned about a stress fracture. I do have family history of rheumatoid arthritis. I welcome any suggestions.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you should definitely consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination and x ray of ankle joint. CT scan of ankle joint is also needed to rule out stress fracture. If fracture is not seen then immobilization by bandage should be done. Limb elevation at night is also beneficial for pain relief. Start calcium and vitamin d 3 supplements for faster recovery. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
