Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband fell on his back. He hit the edge of a brick step at his rib cage. He can take a deep breath without pain and so far no bruising, but it is causing him pain to twist slightly. He has been icing it. What else should he do to help alleviate the pain?
Madam I understand your concern for your husband's health condition. Post trauma he may have some minor injury. It can be hair line fracture also possible. I would suggest to do iceing and ask him to take rest and lie flat as much as possible. It will take at least 2 weeks to alleviate the pain. Avoid movement of back in front and back. If still pain persist, I would suggest to consult your orthopedic and get it evaluated in detail.
