How Can Severe Pain In The Body Be Treated?

I spent months on Norco , & tramadol , & decided , the effects were not to my liking , My pain level has dropped now to between 6-7 . At times of activity more severe ....I was recently prescribed Cymbalta , 2 days ago ...after researching, the adverse conditions Reported by users , have kept me from using it , What are the best alternatives I have chronic pain, & nerve damage, From a terrible accident . I ve had spinal injections which help for a short time, I do not like doing them, I took Xanax years ago, But as the pain subsided I stopped , However it was effective , & I found I could use it sporadically as needed .... Is it not a recommended medication now? I m a bit nieve , I didn t realize there was a fee, No C.C. LOL Just my luck

Hello,

In terms of the side effects, Tramadol can have more side effects compared to Cymbalta. General rule is if Cymbalta is helping you with pain and its not causing any acute side effects then you take it.

As suffering from pain itself is like a side effect that affects your functioning. Besides medication, you can try spinal electro stimulation. It has been very effective in certain cases. I would suggest that you can give it a try, if it helps you with your pain, then you don't need to take Cymbalta.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
