How Can Severe Pain In The Forearms Be Treated?

Hello. For several weeks I have been experiencing pain in both forearms. This isn t a sports related incident. When I pick up anything my forearm hurts. Both forearms hurt if my arms are extended or bent for any length of time. I work on a computer 5 days a week. Tylenol and ibuprofen don t provide very much relief.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
You have got a typical presentation of pain in forearms only and not in the neck, should or other parts of upper limbs.
Hence the problems seems to be local only.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations like MRI of the forearms to start with.
This will give the probable diagnosis whether related to nerve compression in neck or local muscular problems due to faulty posture, overuse or so.
Also needed is to see for Vitamin D deficiency and thyroid status and get corrected if any abnormality is seen.
Try to take off the work to give rest to the forearms.
Change the position and height of computer take, keyboard and chair to give you the most comfortable position for the forearms and you may see changes positively.
