How Can Severe Pain In The Hips Be Treated?

What can I do for chronic hip pain? The pain is on the outside of the hip in the joint. It is a constant ache and stiffness. Sometimes it feels like a cramp in the joint. Exercise and other movement irritate the problem. It has been there a few years and varies in the level of pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It seems to be definitely a hip joint problem. the effective management would be only after knowing the extent &cause of it.

Please consult an orthopaedic doctor after physical examination &MRI he would advise you specific management of pain.

Till then trying to have optimal body weight & avoiding painful movements along with pain pills over the counter & local ointment like Duoflam gel over the counter &ice bag/hot pad is what you can do at home.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
