Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am suffering from knee pain for the last 7-8 yrs n diagnosed the causes of pain as arthritis. I am a woman of 58 yrs n mother of two sons, very recently I have been advised to take fesovit, macalvit, critizyme, cartigen n cilacar along with eltroxin-100 n aritel am. My question is whether the arthritis will be relieved. Thanks.
Tab. fesovit and macalvit are multivitamins containing various vitamins and calcium. Tab. critizyme contains L carnithine, zinc and selenium. Tab. Cartigen contains glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate which are given to increase lubrication in the joints. Tab. cilacar and aritel am are antihypertensives while tab. eltroxin is given for hypothyroidism.
These medicines will definitely help to relieve your arthritis but won't be able to cure it. The only definitive treatment for severe arthritis is knee replacement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman,
General & Family Physician
