Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I had a bad fall just over a week ago. My right knee took most of the impact. I have taken a course of anti inflammatory tablets. I can walk on it but I get a sticky feeling every time I bend it. Also sharp burning pain if I try to knee on it. Pain is not improving. Do I need to see my doctor or leave it a bit longer?
Since you say you have taken anti-inflammatory drugs we need to know what dosage and which tablet, in particular, you have taken it because if have taken submaximal dosage, then it will not help you anymore.
Usually, in all medical stores, they will not give you adult dosage at all if you are planning to take alone.
So, you can still take anti-inflammatory drugs after getting prescribed from any general practitioner for some time or you can go to orthopedician and get your knee x-ray to see if there is any patellafracture or something happened.
You can take some painkillers also like Diclofenac, Tramadol, and etcetera for temporary relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
