Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Severe Pain In The Left Foot After An Injury Be Treated?
I fell backwards from a crouching position and landed on my left buttock. It hurts when I step on my left foot. No pain when sitting or lying down. Nothing hurts when you touch it. I have been using ice, hot salt baths, muscle relaxers, motrin. I am a week into it. I thought it was better yesterday but today it is worse.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Since the pain of your left foot was getting better and then after a week, it is now worse, I suggest you to get an X-ray done of the foot--AP, Lateral and Oblique views. This will show up any fractures. The pain could also be due to ligament and tendon injury. Hence, please consult a Podiatric surgeon or an Orthopedic surgeon, who can diagnose your problem and advise you on the management.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr Deepti Verma
