How Can Severe Pain In The Left Leg And Lower Back Be Treated?
I have a very severe pain in my left leg and lower back..... a dr told me that I may have a diatic nerve inflamated, and prescribed gabapenting. 300 mg. I started yesterday taking 3 pills a day, so far no relieve or change on my pain after 5 pills. How long will the medicine will start wto make some effect ?.!

If you have diabetes for long duration (say 5-1 0 years) it may be due to the diabetic neuropathy. Do laboratory investigation like RBS, HBA1c, nerve conduction velocity test to confirm it. Second possible reason could be that nerve compression at the level of lumbar vertebrae causing radiating pain from lower back to knee /ankle. For that consult orthopedic doctor who will properly guide you.
