I don t want to take opioids unless I have to. I have had Kenalog injections but only the first time did that work. What are my options now? Is
Since you are having severe discomfort due to the prolapsed L4/5 disc, it is definitely causing nerve and possibly cord compression. If medications and physiotherapy are not giving you any relief, the only method of treating this problem is by minimal access surgical removal off the disc. You would get much better relief of of symptoms, and further complications of nerve compression can also be prevented.
