How Can Severe Pain In The Right Hip Joint Be Treated?
I have extreme pain in my right hip joint area, it is a burning pain that is worst if I take a deep breath or cough or even burp, it hurts to move my leg or move my leg from left to right. I have to exhale all the air out of my lungs while sitting to put on my socks and shoes. The pain started 8 days ago when I got up. I have not taken a fall or anything I can think of that could have caused injury. The pain will shoot across my lower stomach area if I continue to move in a way that causes my hip to hurt. Very painfully level 9 out of 10.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need to go to the nearest medical center, for complete clinical assessment, X-ray of the joint as well as other routine tests depending on the initial findings. After all, your doctor may suggest: 1- Rest your body. 2- Prescribe analgesics such as Ibuprofen and topical drugs such as Diclofenac. 3- Hip strengthening and stretching exercise program. 4- Antibiotic treatment in case of infection. 5- Steroid injections in severe arthritis of the hip joint.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Take care.
