How Can Severe Pain In The Right Knee Be Treated?

I suffer a great deal of pain especially in my right knee with osteoarthritis. Over 4 years ago, I tore the meniscus in that knee.....The pain is so debilitating at times....I recently had a steroid injection...seemed to help for about 3 wks....bone on bone showing on xrays....I there any supplement or medicine that can calm down the inflammation?...Currently, I am taking Meloxicam.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Based on the description of your symptoms, it would be better you take tablet containing Glucosamine sulphate, Potassium Chloride, Methylsulfonylmethane, Manganese, Boron, Zinc, and Copper, along with the other medication you are taking. This should help the joint in lubrication process, which will reduce the friction and subsequently pain.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
