Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have bilateral shoulder pain so much so that I can t sleep on my sides anymore. This makes sleeping difficult. I also have tingling down my upper arms. This has been going on for about a year and getting worse. My right hip joint has also become too sore to lay or rest on. I have gone to the doctor for the right shoulder which was the first place of pain. I have had x-rays and physical therapy on the right shoulder. I should probably go back to the doctor because it didn t help. I am wondering if I will have to have an MRI on all 3 areas or if I could be tested for something systemic that might be going on. Also, do you think arthritis could get that bad that quickly?

How Can Severe Pain In The Shoulders Be Treated?
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to a bulging disc in the cervical vertebral column. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and a cervical spine MRI study. A lumbar MRI may be needed too. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
