How Can Severe Pain In The Spine Be Treated?

I hope so. I am 59 yrs. old and have been an athlete my entire life. However, due to my active lifestyle, I have experienced several injuries. The one of concern currently is my L4/5 - I have had a 50% discectomy 15 years ago and several cortisone injections since. It will help you to know that my spinal surgeon noted that my spine is fused to my pelvic bone on both side since birth and I have C5/6/7 fused (broke my neck) from skiing accident. I love to play golf, but the L4/5 absorbs all the pressure from the twisting of golf swing. The pain worsens the more I play until I can barely move. Wondering if stem cell therapy might be a good option to give me ten more of golf?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

That could help but not much so one thing you have to do is avoid exercise and should have to start pregabalin and TCA like nortryptilin pain killer which can relieve pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
