Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Severe Pain In The Throat After Tonsillectomy Be Treated?
Can you please help, my daughter age 7 is 14 days post tonsillectomy, she has had an infection treated by antibiotics. Today I noticed a hole is some tissue, like extra flesh, where her tonsils used to be, the hole has a void space behind it. My daughter is still in extreme pain on this side when eating or drinking, it stings like crazy especially fruit juice. What could be wrong? Her recovery has been awful.
Post-tonsillectomy usually, these types of problems are common, I think she must be on a liquid diet only? Kindly, check out with your doctor about it.
Because usually if there is an infection or any breakout of the tissue and if reactionary hemorrhage happens then it has to be reopened. For all that your ENT doctor should only examine her and see what the progress of the surgery is.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
