Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Severe Sore Throat Along With Nasal Congestion Be Treated?
For the past 5 weeks I start with a painful sore throat 2 to3 days then aches and pains and blowing nose with clear to yellow green mucus. First 2times was given antibiotics for 7 days felt better about 80 % then symptoms reappear. Doing nasal flushes 1st time and taking Sudafed and Zyrtec. In 2nd bout asthma got bad had been coughing prior and put on Predisone was also on neublizer. What should idonow?
After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that line of treatment for a sore throat and cold has been followed properly if you still have nasal congestion and a sore throat then kindly avoid cold or chilled stuff and take nebulizer 2-3 time with gargles for another week.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap,
Cardiologist
