How Can Severe Tinnitus Be Treated?

I believe I have tinnitus, and I ve used an online tone generator to isolate the frequency of the noise to around 6,000kHz. The focus of the noise under 6,000kHz stays right on top of my laptop speakers, but as I slowly modulate the frequency up and down from 6,000 - 9,000kHz, the noise literally walks back and forth from left ear to right inside my head. Once the frequency drops below 6,000, the focal point of the noise jumps from my head and back to the laptop. But between 6,000-9,000kHz, the noise walks back and forth from ear to ear.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many reasons for tinnitus like Earwax, Infections, even some antibiotics, or steroid may cause this. I suggest you take up a general physical examination, and a basic Otoscopic examination by an ENT surgeon.

Regular cleaning of the ear will reduce the symptoms. Persistence of severe tinnitus can be treated by an anti-anxiety drug which can be prescribed by you an ENT Surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Indhu Priyadharshini
