I believe I have tinnitus, and I ve used an online tone generator to isolate the frequency of the noise to around 6,000kHz. The focus of the noise under 6,000kHz stays right on top of my laptop speakers, but as I slowly modulate the frequency up and down from 6,000 - 9,000kHz, the noise literally walks back and forth from left ear to right inside my head. Once the frequency drops below 6,000, the focal point of the noise jumps from my head and back to the laptop. But between 6,000-9,000kHz, the noise walks back and forth from ear to ear.
