How Can Severe Toothache Be Treated?

i am 66 year old lady from India at present in SEATLE WA with myson. i have tooth ach but my b. p shoots up to 222/109 so tooth extraction is postpond i am on tab telma 40 mg od and atab prolomet xl 25 hs at night this medicine i am taking as per my cardiologist in from India. Can you please suggest what can be done ? Thank you, Sarojini

Yes,it is true that if the blood pressure shoots too high then dental extraction can be fatal as it can cause severe blood loss..
I would suggest you to first of all consult a Cardiologist and get evaluated as so high blood pressure can otherwise be also harmful and can lead to heart diseases.
First of all your medications should be titrated so that blood pressure comes under control..
Also start doing deep breathing exercises and yoga as it can be highly beneficial to reduce high blood pressure..
Once the blood pressure becomes stable then extraction can be done but still there should be a precaution that the local anaesthesia that should be used should not contain adrenaline..
As of now you can take pain relievers so that the pain is controlled..
Do cool compresses on the cheek.
Apply clove oil over the tooth to reduce pain..
