Short term memory loss in a child who is bright or had good memory before can be due to stress;casual attitude if she is getting scolded;fear of teachers or parents which are mental reasons to precipitate memory loss.First talk to her and don't pressurize her for studies.In teens a child suffers from mental issues so needs to handle problem with care and make her understand.Tell her mother to talk to her in detail she should improve with some mental and moral support .If not then consult a child Psychogist.
