How Can Side Effects Of Lyrica Overdose Be Treated?
yes my son took 28 pills of lyrica 300mg capsules this am around midnight. We found him totally out of it. He was lathargic, mumbling, could not get him to stand. Now it is 1 thirty pm and he is still out of it. He is sleeping and does not seem anymore alert than this morning at 7 am. His arms and legs are cold. Help
When taken in excess, Lyrica causes profound drowsiness as well as excessive sleepiness. The condition in which your son is right now required him to be managed by a trained professional.
There is no specific antidote for overdose with pregabalin. If indicated, elimination of unabsorbed drug may be attempted by emesis or gastric lavage.
Usual precautions should be observed to maintain the airway. General supportive care of the patient is indicated including monitoring of vital signs and observation of the clinical status of the patient.
He should be admitted to an emergency care facility where, if required, hemodialysis should be done. Standard hemodialysis procedures result in significant clearance of pregabalin and should be considered in cases of overdose.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Prabhash Verma,
