Hi, thank you for asking on this forum. I understand your concern.
Is there any
fever, headache and postnasal drip? Are the symptoms there for more than a week? It might be an infection called
sinusitis. Infection can be viral or bacterial. Viral infection should have been subsided within a week. If its not subsided for more than a week and you have
post nasal drip, headache,
facial pain or mucus discharge, then its probably bacterial. Then you will need to take an antibiotic. Like
augmentin or
moxifloxacin. Plus you need to take acetaminophen/
paracetamol like
tylenol to relieve any pain, and a decongestant. Decongestants are available as sprays, capsule or tablets, liquids or syrups, and flavored powders for dissolving in water, whichever way you prefer them. Have you tried
fexofenadine and
pseudoephedrine in combination for decongestion? You can keep using saline spray for temporary reliefs. And take steam from plain water for inhalation. This also helps relieve congestion and breaks down mucus accumulated in the
sinuses. You can also get
guaifenesin.
Frequently recommended treatments include pain and fever medications (such as acetaminophen [Tylenol]), decongestants and mucolytics (medication that dissolve or breakdown mucous, for example, guaifenesin) and antibiotic if it is bacterial.
