How Can Sinusitis And Pain In The Nostrils Be Treated?
Hello, I m battling a sinus infection but also have issues with hard bloody scabs in the area where my left nasal passage goes into the throat. Sometimes I can expel the scab through the nostril or cough it out. I use saline spray, inhale steam from showering. I also have bleeding after I eliminate the scab. It s discouraging as my nasal passages are always sore.
Hello I understand your concern Nasal scabs with soreness can be because of sinusitis itself/prolonged use of nasal decongestant sprays.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend, -Get the detailed examination done by ENT surgeon to diagnose any condition causing persistent infection like deviated nasal septum -Local antibacterial ointment can be used to decrease inflammation. Oral antibiotics like augmentin thrice for 7 days for covering up sinusitis.(prescription drug) -Nasal irrigation with saline and avoid using any nasal decongestant. -Avoid picking at nose. -Avoid exposure to dust and smoke
Hope I answered your query. Wish you good health.
