How Can Sinusitis Be Treated?

I thought I had a sinus infection in September 2016. I was treated w/ an antibiotic. the symptoms kept getting worse. One week ago I found a mold problem in my walk in closet. It is going to be torn out tomorrow. My problem is I feel very sick. Zertek and Flonase are doing nothing to alleviate any of my symptoms. I m at a loss about what to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern. The mold in your closet is the most likely culprit of your symptoms and the reason why the medication is not being effective. Your immune system has been under triggers for too long, hence it is always on the alert. Once you get rid of the allergenic source, you will start seeing almost immediate relief.
Should the symptoms persist after the mold problem is resolved, then you need to definitely undergo test in order to determine the cause.

Wishing you all the best.
