How Can Skin Injury In The Vagina Be Treated?

As I was shaving my pubic hair the razor slipped and I cut the fissure between my labial folds. It stopped bleeding when I applied a tissue for a few minutes but was bleeding again an hour later. The bleeding and pain are manageable and I am keeping it clean. I am wondering at what point should I consider going to the er for stitches?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The bleeding and pain are normal with the cut that happened. I would not expect the wound to bleed again the following days unless there is a local trauma that causes this.

If you notice the lesion continuing to bleed the following days or you notice swelling and redness in the area or local pain gets worse you will need to see a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
