How Can Skin Peeling Off The Knuckles And Along The Fingers Be Cured?

I have skin peeling off my knuckles and along my fingers and thumbs. It is pink or red underneath and sometimes gets bad enough that it bleeds. After a few weeks it goes away. I use an antibiotic which brings some relief, but doesn t seem to help with healing. Any suggestions for how to treat this? It can be very painful.
