How Can Skin Tear In The Vagina Be Treated?

When I put in a tampon I have to do it on my right side. Inserting it did not hurt at all and it felt fine. Until I had to take it out. It got caught on a thin strip of skin that seems to divide my vaginal opening. So I had to painfully pull the tampon through the opening on the right side of the strip of skin as some of the tampon was getting caught trying to exit the left smaller side. I don t quite know what to do about this considering I m afraid to tell my mom about this, and I can t go the rest of my life without wearing tampons. I m not sure what to do.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

Most probably it will heal by itself.

If sufficient gaping is there, suturing may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
