How Can Someone Have A Mini Stroke With A BP Of 203/87 ?
so it just has to be one number. My friends dad had high blood pressure of 203/87. The bottom number is normal but the top number is high. He was in the Dr s with 212/82 and they did not call 911. He went to the ER and had a mini stroke. He is in the hospital now. How can someone have a mini stroke with the low number normal. I was told the top number is not dangerous by itself. Both numbers have to be high. I have had 213/79 before and I didn t have a stroke. I am 34 but he is 86. Does age have a factor. He wants to leave the hospital. What would happen if he tried to leave. My friend is worried that he will try to leave without being released. I know when I tried to leave the hospital once they subdued me with a mild tranquilzer.
Both systolic and diastolic pressures are important in the pathophysiology of stroke. Blood pressure conveys a statistical risk,so the longer it is elevated the more likely is an event to occur as risk accumulates, but it still may never do so.
