Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Sore Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing Be Treated?
I can t afford a doctor right now if I can avoid it. I ve had a sore throat and dark colored mucus in my throat for 2 weeks now. The throat pain is now in my ear, only one side. No fever during any of it. Swallowing hurts on the one side. Could this be strep or is something else a possibility? My 6 year old recently tested positive for strep and she did not even have a sore throat. If it could be strep, I need to be looking for a way to get cheap antibiotics.
You should have tablet azithromycin once a day along with some antacid like tablet pantoprazole before breakfast once a day for five days. Also, have betadine gargles four times a day. If having a cough, have syrup Alex two teaspoons whenever needed up to three times a day. Avoid cold food items.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar Makode
