How Can Sore Throat And Pain In The Ears Be Treated?

I went to a walk in medical place last Sunday, July 30th for a sore throat and earache. I was checked and they couldn t really determine what was wrong but treated me for Eustacian tube dysfunction and gave me a 5 day script for a steroid (predinzone) ... the entire time I was taking the medication I had no pain in my throat or ear. The day after the medication stopped (Friday) the pain resurfaced again and continues to get worse. Any suggestions?

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your throat and ear.

As you said You had been prescribed prednisolone which is a steroid. That means you were treated as a viral infection with severe inflammation.

There are certain side effects related to steroids, so that must not be withdrawn at once, there is a tampering method of steroid withdrawal. Your worsening conditions would have been because of that.
As you said there is no relief after a week, if it would have been viral, it heals within week or little more because it is a self healing condition. Which doesn't seem the case.

It seems to me bacterial infection, if I would have been your treatment doctor I would like to to prescribe levofloxicin for 5 days.
You can also take hot steam inhalation and decongestant medication after consulting your doctor.
