How Can Sores All Over The Body Be Treated In An Elderly Person?
My father is 75 and a diabetic with thyroid condition, Hashimoto s he is getting sores all over his body. They are not healing well or quickly and seem to be getting infected. They start off as a blister and then they pop open and ooze out liquid. His doctor just put him onsulfamethoxazole tmp df, but it doesn t seem to be helping. He s in a lot of pain what can be done to help him?
As per your case history of father having sores, my treatment advice is:
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine for itching and NSAID drug like Ibuprofen for pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
