How Can Sparganosis Be Treated?

my son appears to have sparganum, and it s difficult getting local doctors to take it seriously. he s been to several doctors and everyone in the family has seen what he s complaining about, but doctors aren t testing it or trying to figure it out, they re telling him it s all in his head. we are at our rope s end. my son is 41 and has pets, so it doesn t seem so far fetched to us. we also live in a sub tropical area, south florida. where do we go for some serious testing and discussion? doctors seem to not want to even consider it.

Hi,

What are the complaints of your son? It may cause local tissue inflammatory reaction. eosinophilia, seizures, and headache in case of brain involvement.

It is treated with Praziquantel but surgical excision is curative.

Please get it done investigations according to the symptoms. It is possible with psychosis may present like worm infestation or body dysmorphic symptoms.

Please consult your physician, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
