How Can Sperm Motility Be Increased?

Hi Doc,I m married and my husband have a problem he have only 15% active of sperms and the rest is sluggish but he have complete counts of sperms we really want have a baby we r married within 2years. What he needs todo cause man needs 50% sperms active to make woman pregnant so how to increase his sperms active?he needs any treatment?im waiting for your answer. Thanks and have blessed day

Hi, I think you can go for a semen culture and sensitivity test to see if there is any infection. He can take some antioxidant and vitamin supplements for 3 months to improve motility. He can also take antibiotic like doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 10 days empirically. Talk to your doctor regarding this. You can try ovulation induction with timed intercourse for 3 to 6 cycles. If it doesn't work, then you can go for IUI. In this sperm motility is improved to a great extent. Hope it helps.
