Hi My Daughter is 8 month old and from the time of birth we notice squint in her eyes. so we consult to her pedestrian. he said it will be rectify with time but we will see little squint in her eyes. So we consult to one eye specialist and he took the retina test of my daughter which is ok but he said their is cylindrical number i.e. 2.5 in her left eye. One thing more at the time of birth my daughter condition is serious and she is on ventilator for a week. any suggestion. I'm very much worried about her.
1)If your daughter was on ventilation at time of birth she was at risk of developing retinopathy of prematurity. But since retinal examination is normal you should not worry and have periodic retinal examinations done as per your retina specialist. 2) for squint whatever information you have provided is not sufficient to answer. some squints resolve with age. some needs treatment and intervention at early age to prevent amblyopia. so thorough squint examination type of squint;amount of squint;etc) along with dilated fundus examination to rule out any retinal pathology is required. hope this helps.I would be happy to answer any further querries.
