How Can Stiffness And Pain In The Neck And Shoulders Be Treated?
about 5 days ago I had what felt like a slight stiff neck on the left side. Each day it got worse to the point a few days ago the pain was across both shoulders. I started taking ibuprophen and applying heat, which did help temporarily. However, at this point my shoulder pain is gone, but the pain behind extends up past my ear and down to the beginning of my left shoulder. I haven t taken any medication today so as not to mask it. It s a gnawing pain and I think my left arm is beginning to feel some achiness.
Hello there I have read through your question and it seems you have developed cervical spondylosis. Pain and stiffness in the shoulders are pointing towards it. An MRI scan of the cervical spine can help in diagnosis. Meanwhile you should take care to maintain a good posture while sitting. You can consult a chiropractor for some stretching exercises which help to relieve the pain. You can use a mild painkiller like aceclofenac or ibuprofen to relieve the pain. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
