How Can Stiffness And Soreness In The Neck And Shoulder Be Treated?

Hello. I have had neck stiffness and shoulder soreness for the past several weeks with ocassional numbness in my hand. This has become worse over the past week where the periods of numbness are more intense. My doctor prescribed amrix for me but it doesn t seem to be helping. A neck x-ray that he took showed some arthritis around the neck / shoulder area. is there anything that I can do to relieve the pain in my neck /shoulder and lessen the numbness that I m experiencing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to arthritis. I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day.

I also recommend using an anti-inflammatory cream for local relief. Heating pads at the local area of pain can help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
