How Can Stomach Discomfort In An Infant Be Treated?
hi i have a baby boy of 45 days, we as parents are sleepless from last 30days or so in the night as the baby screaming in gas pain from midnight till the morning. It is really difficult to tolerate his screaming. He is completely on mother milk. We almost tired colicade 3 times a day, neopeptine 3 time a day, lactose enzyme 3 time a day. but without any improvement in his pain in the night. Now Dr has advice to give Atarax in the late night to make him sleep. But after giving 0.4 ML he still awake and screaming. I am really worried about my wife as well as she is suffering from slip disc and tennis elbow problem. Age 45 Days Weight 4.6 kg

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query I understand your concern. - Babies do change their sleeping time.. they sleep a lot in day time &then they are awake in night. If that is the case.. keep him awake in day time (play with it.. show some colourful toyes ..) so that it sleeps better in night. -In case it's realy screaming .. might be pain in abdomen...you have already tried some medicines. I would suggest carminative pediatric drops 3-5 in a spoon of water./give light fomentation with a citton pack to abdomen..this may calm it down. -possibility of lactose intollerance needs to be excluded by physical examination &supported by lab test. Change of milk can relieve it if that is the cause.Consult children specialist. Thanks.
