How Can Stomach Discomfort While On Cymbalta Be Managed?

Three weeks ago I was put on Lexapro. I had been taking Cymbalta. My husband has stated twice that I was not myself. I ve been having problems with my stomach. Should I go back to Cymbalta? Doctor switched because of the dreams I was having with Cymbalta, not night terrors, just weird dreams where I m running or searching all the time and I felt I wasn t getting a good night s sleep. A restful sleep.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Abdominal discomfort is a common side effect of Lexapro. However, if you stay on the medication for few weeks, yoir body will get used to the drug and the side effects will start to fade away. I would recommend continuing Lexapro for 3 more weeks and if you still have abdominal.doscomfort, then switching back to Cymbalta can be considered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
