Hello, Can you help me with a question I have? Here is the problem. Yesterday I got home from work around 3pm to let the dog out, I did not eat anything all till i got home I had another call to go on so I ate 4 hotdogs I know not good but I was hungry . When I got up this morning I had a pain in my back/right side and now it's in y stomach on the right side I did go to the bathroom but the pain is still there, On a scale of 1-10 10 being the worst, it was a 10 this morning but is now about a 5. Is there anything i can do to help move things along. I took two gas tablets and a little digel.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Amarnath's Response
welcome to hcm, Epigastric pain associated with food intake is mostly due to gastritis. it is usually treated by taking antacids and proton pump inhibitors or h2 histamine blockers. if you were my patient i will treat you with surafil syrup before food which gives a protective coating in your stomach and reduces the pain. after food i usually advice giving a proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole. discuss with your treating physician hope this explains with regards Dr.Amarnath
