How Can Surgical Stitches On The Upper Lip Be Treated?
Last wednesday I had a lip biopsy (upper lip) and received 2 stitches. I believe the derm used nylon. He suggested I come back in 2 weeks but I m wondering if that is too long. I worry that my lip has healed over completely and removal could be very challenging, or cause scaring because 14 days it too long.
Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
The lip is very vascular structure. So it heals very fast as compare to other organs. You can get your stitches removed after total 10 days of taking stitches. I don't recommended it to kept until 14days but if your doctor feels then no worry in extending duration.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
