Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Swelling And Inflammation On The Feet Be Treated?
i have been tested several times for the indicator for gout, and every time my levels are normal...but I have the red, swollen, hot, extremely sensitive foot that reoccurs about 3 to 4 times per year. If it is not gout, what am dealing with? I have gotten a generic arthritis diagnosis. I want to stop the recurrence.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It may be due to cellulitis or deep vein thrombosis or non-gouty crystal arthritis or cardiac or renal failure, etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please get checked for Rheumatological profile, thyroid profile, X-ray of joint, kidney and cardiac function, etc. Please consult your physician/rheumatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
