How Can Swelling And Inflammation On The Wrist Due To Wasp Sting Be Treated?
I was stung by a wasp last Sunday on my arm between my hand and my wrist. It turned red, hard and swelled up. Now a week later, it looks good. However, my daughter was stung by a bee. She had the same reaction, went to the doctor and was given antibiotics. Do you think I should go in to see a doctor? Thanks, Donna
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swelling and inflammation after wasp sting is due to allergic reaction to the chemical toxin that is injected under the skin of the individual by the wasp/bee leading to inflammation an causing pain, swelling, redness and itching..
In this case a course of antibiotic is advised if there is infection at the site of bite otherwise anti allergics oral and topical are sufficient..
As in your case the site of sting is improving, therefore you need not to worry as there will be gradual improvement. You can even continue doing cool compresses over it, take anti-allergics like Levocetrizine and do not scratch the area..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
