How Can Swelling And Numbness In The Eyes And Face Be Treated?

Hello. I got into a fight with 2 girls recently, and I woke up with a swollen shut dark purple black eye. I also woke up with a strange numbness in my face on the same side of the black eye. The numbness goes from the side of my nose, under the eye, and my upper lip. This happened on Monday night so it has been about 72 hours and it hasn t healed. Should I be concerned??

Hello and welcome to HCM.
What you have got is something called as black eye due to injury. The swelling, numbness bruising may develop after 1-2 days of injury.
If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-Analgesic like acetaminophen twice for 3 days.
-Local ice pack application for 15-20 minutes every 3-4 hours for swelling and numbness relief.
Usually,it gets cured by 7-10 days.If it persists or you get fever, increasing pain and swelling, visit physician.
-Protect the face from further injury by restricting vigorous activities.
-If there is vision problem, redness in eyes, inability to move eye, visit opthalmologist immediately.
Also keep a watch if you develop persistent headache, nausea, any fluid coming out from nose.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks.
