How Can Swelling And Pain In The Finger Be Treated?

I fell in April and from the fall I suffered a swollen pointer finger it never turned black and blue it swelled for 3 days then the swelling went down since then the joint and the end of the finger and a slight bump and it is sore when I push on something or squeeze finger into a fist Could I have done something to that joint and is something I need to get looked at. It is not swollen now

By your history and description, the possibility of internal injuries like a hairline fracture or soft tissue injury is more likely.

So better to consult an orthopaedic doctor and get done a clinical examination and X-ray point finger. You may need cast immobilization, a painkiller and anti-inflammatory drugs.
