Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my 18 yrs. old went to see a doctor for knee pain, and he provided her with a cortisone shot which has frozen her from any movements due to swelling and pain. She mentioned the doctor said she would be able to resume activities afterwards, but apparently didn t explain the side effects. How can we accelerate her side effects or wash it down.
Swelling and pain are not a side effect of cortisone.
I recommend you to visit the doctor again and the girl may need some new examination like a knee X-ray, and a sonography of the knee to see what is going on and may need ct scan or MRI if the problem continuous, to see all the possible causes that can be.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Anila Skenderi, General & Family Physician
