How Can Swelling And Pain In The Leg Due To An Injury Be Treated?
Hello so I was playing soccer with my high school team on Friday and a girl came up from behind me and kicked me in the ankle, close to my shin. My leg went numb. It s the inside of my right leg, there s little swelling but it hurts to walk/run. I m just worried because now it s wendsday and the pain got worse. If I take my hand and press down on my ankle, it hurts.
It could be a contusion only. It is nothing but a collection of blood underneath the skin after a blunt trauma. No need to worry and it will settle by itself. As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief. You can also apply icepacks for faster recovery. If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and plan for an ultrasound scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
