How Can Swelling And Pain In The Legs Be Treated?

my brother has high bp diabetic heart problems and gout. his leg is swollen from his knee down and is suffering a lot of pain tingling and numbness in his leg. he says it isn t gout. he says he knows the difference in gout and this. the dr. gave him steroids but they re still not helping. at times his foot even looks bluish in color and cold to the touch

I have gone through the brief explainaton of the illness of your brother.as per your explanation
your brother is diabetic hypertensive and have heart problems.
and started having leg swelling and pain.
there are some questions which needs to be answered before the conclusion.
how is the sugar and BP control
how is his heart function
how is the kidney function
does the blood flow to lower limbs copramized
swelling and pain in the lower limb can be caused by deranged kidney functions,heart failure,or deep vein thrombsis
may I suggest you some tests kidney function tests,2d echo,and bilateral lower limb arterio venous doppler.
