How Can Swelling And Pain In The Shin Be Treated?

I banged my shin and cut it pretty bad. It is swollen and the bone hurts. Read around the scabbed area. Also, a bruise formed down onto the ankle area, which is also swollen. Now my ankle and foot area are tingling. Would this be concern for blood clots?

Hello,

Shin area is the most dangerous area to get hurt because it causes more pain than other regions and healing is also delayed since there are no blood vessels or fat or any tissue underneath and the only bone area is there subcutaneous.

The healing process is especially delayed in these regions so you need to wait more time to heal. If you have pain, you can take painkillers which will help you reduce the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
