How Can Swelling And Pain In The Upper Lips Be Treated?
I fell last Saturday and banged up my nose and upper lip andwhile my upper lip has gone down it is still swollen and doesn't see, to be healing as fast as my other injuries. Do I need to see my doctor or is there something I can do to help get it back to normal?
It looks like due to injury there might be hematoma formation leading to swelling of the lip which can even appear bruised... It can take a few days to resolve completely but if it gets infected, it can take further longer time as well as can be painful too.. If it is painful you can take painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen. Do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lip and avoid pressing or biting the lip.. In case if it does not show any signs of improvement in a week then you should consult a doctor for a clinical examination..
Hope you get better soon..
Regards..
