How Can Swelling And Pain On The Finger Be Treated?

My daughter hurt her finger at softball practice. She went after the ball (bad bounce) and it hit the tip of one finger. It is slightly swollen and is in pain. Ive put it on ice but what’s strange to me is the ice is making it hurt more. She’s use to putting ice on injuries but this time it doesn’t make since. Is there something i should do?

Hello,

Trigger finger can do hurt more and cause a reduction in daily activities performance. Anti-inflammatory drugs can use to treat it, or surgical release of trigger finger under local anesthesia, or wrist block can perform for permanent relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
